The Open Project

Architecture, Interiors, Landscape, Pools, Gardens

Based in New York City, the Hamptons and Los Angeles, The Open Project connects users with their environment and site to enable a complete sense of being and presence.

Notable commercial projects include retail environments for Xocolatti (chocolate shop), Manfredi (jewelry store), Chilewich (textile showroom), Banchet (flower shop), and Feldspar Brook (clothing store). From apartments and townhouses to ground-up homes, key residential projects in The Open Project’s portfolio include Casa Horizonte in Mexico, Urban Townhouse in New York City, Farmhouse Barn in Upstate New York, and Edgewater in New Jersey.

Expanding its residential work into interiors and landscape design, The Open Project recently completed Greenwich Modern in Connecticut; Sutton Place Apartment in New York City; and La Jolla Garden — an integrated landscape and pool design — in California.

Current residential projects in East Hampton include a ground-up spec house, a two-story 4,500-square-foot house expansion, and a “room in the woods.” Additional active projects include an apartment on the Upper East Side, a nearly 4,000-square-foot loft in SoHo, and an outdoor living room, pool, and gardens in La Jolla.
